PROSECUTOR RULES POLICE SHOOTING OF PARAGOULD MAN JUSTIFIED
PARAGOULD, ARK. – October 15, 2013 – Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington announced Wednesday that he has found Paragould police officers, Cpl. Jason Boling and Cpl. Max Adams justified in shooting Timmy Myrick, 37, of Paragould on October 3.
Ellington released his three page findings letter to the news media Wednesday in which he detailed the chain of events on the evening of October 3 that led to Paragould police officers being called out to the Bertig Street apartment complex in Paragould and the ultimate shooting of Myrick.
“This is certainly a tragic event, but the actions of Timmy Myrick that day threatened the lives of his neighbors and members of law enforcement,” Ellington said. “These officers acted within their training and did exactly what they were taught to do under the circumstances. Therefore, I find the shooting justified and no criminal charges will be brought in this matter.”
