Prosecutor Announces Arrest in Kidnapping Case

OSCEOLA, AR, September 16, 2015 – Scott Ellington, District Prosecuting Attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas, announces the arrest of Hank Crawford, 25, and Mickey Young, 63, both of Steele, Missouri, in the recent disappearance of an Osceola juvenile.

Both men were arrested on September 9, and a probable cause hearing was held on September 14.

Facts leading up to the arrest: On September 7, grandparents of the juvenile reported her missing. The grandfather reported seeing the juvenile get into a vehicle with two white males. It appeared the vehicle had out of state tags. On September 9, 2015, the same vehicle returned the 13 year old juvenile to her residence. The Osceola Police Department was notified and made a traffic stop, at which time they took Crawford and Young into custody. After interviewing Crawford and Young, police charged them with kidnapping.

The case remains under investigation. District Court Judge Donald Betterton found probably cause to charge Crawford with kidnapping and rape, and charge Young was charged with kidnapping.

Crawford’s bond was set at $200,000, and Young’s was set at $150,000.

The next scheduled court date for both men is September 25, 2015 in Mississippi County Circuit Court in Osceola.
