Scott Ellington is the District Prosecuting Attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas, including Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Greene, Mississippi and Poinsett Counties.
Scott is a native of Brookland in Craighead County, and currently lives in Jonesboro with his wife, who is an elementary school teacher. They have three adult children and one grandson.
He is a member of the Craighead County Bar Association and the Arkansas Prosecuting Attorneys Association.
Scott was elected as Prosecuting Attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas in 2010 and re-elected to a second term in 2014. His first term began on January 1, 2011. He is a founding partner of Mental Health Court, Veterans Court and Sobriety Court.
Prior to his election as Prosecuting Attorney, Scott served as a Deputy Prosecutor, beginning in 2007. Before joining the prosecutor’s office, Scott worked in private practice for 15 years, handling a wide variety of litigation.
